Sad stuff

Another one of my comic favorites died this weekend. Dave Cockrum. He first had me hooked on the Legion of Super-heroes and then got me reading the Uncanny X-men.

Even though he died young at 63 at least the last few years he knew that he was remembered by his fans and was in contact with them thanks to the internet.

Nice remembrance of Dave at Silver Bullet Comics by Cliff Meth.

Man, this one hurts as bad as Will Eisner's passing. Maybe worse, since Dave was in such awful straits at the time of his passing. :(

I will always carry a love of his work and a remembrance to they style and defining voice he gave to superheroes during his heyday.
