I Admit It.... I have been Uncanny lately

Not sure what triggered but I have been on an early Uncanny X-men kick lately. bruceb has been greatly amused by this. I was calling folk like point5b Eric the Red in chatland. I have now re-read all five volumes of the Marvel Masterworks of Uncanny (that takes you through issue #141). I hope now the nostalgia wears off soon.

It is amazing how many great ideas and energy there is. There are many thing that people are riffing on in Marvel comics today from these books.

Trivia for you. Nightcrawler was originally designed by Dave Cockrum while he was at DC for possible inclusion as a member of the Legion of Super-Heroes. BTW the term super-hero is a co-owned trademark of Marvel & DC.
