A Texas Hold'Em New Year!

Gordy and Brandee for New Years we played a 12 person poker tournament. It had a ten dollar buy in and we paid out to four places. And believe it or not I came in first! It was nice to win for a change. I started out very slow and I thought I was going to be out really fast. Then I started getting some decent hands and the flops to go with them. By the time we had the final table going I had enough chips to use the power of the big stack to buy a few pots.

Afterwards we played some games on the X-box. Gordy got for Christmas Midway Arcade Treasures that had a lot old arcade games on it like Gauntlet, Defender, Tapper, and best of all Rampage.

Also from e-Bay I got Friendly Dictators, Coup D'etat, Iran-Contra Scandal, and Rotten to the Core trading cards sets that Eclipse Comics published back in the late 80's.

Yes indeed, it was a fun New Year's Eve/Day gathering of friends. I am glad you won, too. Maybe that means your non-winning streak is over and 2006 will be The Year Of The Lon. Kinda like a Chinese Calendar thing...

I just hope my luck hold through next week while I am in Las Vegas. I am planning on playing some of the daily tournaments at the Luxor.
