Back from the place of unreality called Las Vegas. As usual we stayed at the Orelans. Had a great time player slots, video poker, and some freeze-out tournaments at the Luxor.

A brief breakdown of events;

Sunday; Kind of a lost day for me. Between the early flight and the fact by the time we got to the hotel I had been awake for 27 hours, I wasnt up to too much besides getting something to eat, then sleeping.

Monday: Wandered the strip a bit. Went down the Wynn to get tickets for Avenue Q. Wasnt all that impressed by the Wynn. It just seemed big grand to no real purpose. The Bellagio, Bally's and Venetian are still the best on the strip. Next we wandered down to to the Venetian looked at the shop, sat shipping drinks while people watching. It was during this time we came to the conclusion after watching a drunk women in a cowboy hat, that no good comes of a Yard of Margarita.
Also while at the Venetian we saw the Treasures from the Kremlin exhibit. Had the treasures of the Tsars. Had very some very neat things to see.

Tuesday: Was up early to play the daily freeze-out tournament at the Luxor for $30 bucks. I only won one hand that day was done playing after 45 min. The hand I won was the first one and got two pair from my hole cards Ace/Queen on the flop. Had fun, but disappointed that I hadnt done better, but after the first hand I saw almost all unsuited low cards. Bleh. That night we went the buffet at the Bellagio and it was fantastic. Better even than the buffet at Paris. While sitting over heard from a table of women was "When you do your next study abroad you simply MUST visit the south of Spain. I know the most sensual masseuse there!"

Wednesday: Played at Luxor again. Ann played as well at a different table. Did a little better though after winning a couple early hands didnt have much luck after that. I had one drunk (at 11 AM!) playing. he was amusing using all the poker lingo while playing, I felt sorry for the dealer who he was sitting next to.

Thursday: Once again Ann & I played poker at the Luxor. I started out first hand with suited Ace/Queen and paired both on the flop and won a very large pot. Second hand was pocket Kings and I got a third on the turn and won another pretty good pot because no-one believed that I would have two solids hands in a row. Later won a hand on pocket Jacks after that it was all downhill. Got sucked out two hands in a row on the river by people that were all in. After that I didnt have enough chips to be competitive but I played over an hour and made to the final two tables out of eight. That night we ate at the buffet at Paris more yummy goodness.

Friday: During the day I just vegged and enjoyed the sun. It wasnt really that warm, but compared to Michigan it felt great. During the evening we went to see Avenue Q. Listened to the Broadway soundtrack numerous times. One couple left during the song You Can Be As Loud As the Hell You Want (When You're Makin' Love). I hadnt know about what became my favorite part of the performance was the Bad Idea Bears. They didnt have a song, but they play an important role. They are the two adorable and sinister bears that can convince anyone to do something bad in the most adorable way.

Saturday: We wander the strip again. Saw what would have made the greatest poker shirt, but was $49 and I couldnt rationalize paying that much. I watched football for a while in the afternoon and we went out for our final Las Vegas meal at the Sidewalk Cafe at Bally's. In early because we had to pack and be at the airport at 4:30 AM for our 6 AM flight Sunday morning.

Sunday: Home again jiggity jig....

In all had a great time and I think Ive finally convinced Ann we need to move away from the damn snow!
