OEMING/BRANDON LAUNCH THE CROSS BRONX IN SEPTEMBER )

I mentioned in my earlier previews post about Cross Bronx and here is some promo stuff on it. Crime meets the supernatural always sounds good to me. Follow the link to Newsarama to see some sample art.

ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN #100 )
Clone Saga? Please god no. Bendis is really jumping the shark now.... May buy this just to see if it is a train wreck. Bendis is becoming the the Claremnont methinks.

ALL-NEW OFFICIAL HANDBOOK OF THE MARVEL UNIVERSE A TO Z #9 )

Skull the Slayer? Talk about obscure. Another one of a long line of comics that had their storyline wrapped up in either Marvel Team-Up or Marvel Two-In-One.

MARVEL MILESTONES: X-MEN & THE STARJAMMERS PART 2 )
OK shoot me I want this,,,,,,,,

TRUE STORY, SWEAR TO GOD #1 )

This is by far one of my favorite comics. Buy this or I will send the Butterfly Assassains after you!

THE CROSS BRONX #1 )

I gave up on Powers a longtime ago, but I am still a big Oeming fan so I am interested to see what is up with this one. He has always has a lot of good ideas.

ALL STAR SUPERMAN #6 )
I just love what Grant Morrison is doing with this book. I havent enjoyed Superman this much since Elliot S! Maggin wrote Last Son of Krypton and Miracle Monday novels when the first two Superman movies came out.
CHECKMATE #6 )
All you have to do is say Suicide Squad and I will check a book out. And with Greg Rucka writing it there may be hope that he could as well with it as John Ostrander did.
MYSTERY IN SPACE #1 (of 6) )
I am giving this a shot in hope that Starlin can channel of his 70's Captain Marvel and Warlock madness again.
WILDCATS: WORLDSTORM #1 )
Grant Morrison doing WILDCats. Here is hoping that he can make it as much fun as Alan Moore or James Robinson did.
SNAKES ON A PLANE #1 & 2 )
Snakes on a fricking plane! 'Nuff said!
THE LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN: THE BLACK DOSSIER HC )
OK this and Fables hardcover are being advanced solicited so they really arent October books, but more LoEG is always a good thing and this time we will get the whole story in one shot no worries about how long each issue will come out. YAY!
FABLES: 1001 NIGHTS OF SNOWFALL HARDCOVER )
I love Fables. And its a hardcover for only $19.99 Who can resist?
AMERICAN SPLENDOR #1 (of 4) )

I have enjoyed Harvey Pekar for a long while now. Its too bad that Dark Horse has lost him, but who can blame him for jumping ship. I am betting he is making a heck of a lot more money under DC's wings than Dark Horses.

Spider-girl #99The next to last issue. What will be the fate of May "Mayday" Parker!

Thunderbolts #103 The damn Civil War thing crosses over into the book, but at least it dosent drag the plot to a complete halt. And speaking of Civil War do you think they jumped the shark in Civil War #2 with the Spider-man thing?

Marvel Westerns: The Two Gun Kid Fun read, just kind of annoyed by the "to be continued in She-Hulk #11" ending.

52 #6 Interesting to see China's superheroes. Felt like a filler issue though.

DMZ #8Finally a history of how the how Free Armies of America started. Good stuff every month.

Nightwing #121 Man I am usually liking Bruce Jones' stuff but I am not sire about this whole thing with the returned Jason Todd.

From Comic Book Resources....

LEGENDARY ARTIST TIM HILDEBRANDT HAS PASSED AWAY )

The copy of the Star Wars poster he and Greg did adorned my bedroom walls many years after it should have been retired. Between that and the LotR rings stuff they did shaped what I thought what fantasy should look like for many years. And for those of you young enough this is the poster I refer to; Star Wars

Short stack this week.....

Last Planet Standing 3 (of 5) I think Tom Defalco is going a bit over the top with this one, but we will see how it concludes. Was disappointed that there is no Silver Surfer as yet.

52 #5 Ok so we have attack of the 25 foot Hawkwoman. One character with one eye. Another completely blinded. Two character fused together. And Koriand ’ r skinnydipping. Is that is that why they are blind? Inquiring minds wanna know.

Detective #820 James Robinson's next to last issue. I am am enjoying this, but like many comics these days written to be read in one sitting not as single issues.

JSA #86 Next to last issue. This re-booting of numbering is getting a bit insane. I know that JLA is going to be called Justice League of America and they probably want to re-brand JSA as Justice Society of America, but sigh.

You scored as Wire. Wire were arguably the band who provided the link between early British punk and post-punk, combining buzzing guitars and catchy choruses with an art-school approach to composition. They are best heard on 1977's 'Pink Flag'.
