CHRIS CLAREMONT TAKES TIME FOR RECOVERY

On March 5, comic industry legend and current writer of Uncanny X-Men and Excalibur, Chris Claremont, was overcome by exhaustion while attending a conference in Italy.

Thankfully, he is expected to make a full recovery and return to the comic industry he helped build.

Chris Claremont is best known for being the definitive X-Men writer and over thirty years later is still writing Uncanny X-Men along with New Excalibur.

After treatment and tests in Italy, Claremont was diagnosed with cardiac stress and last week returned to New York City where he will continue his rehabilitative therapy.

Due to this brief hiatus, Claremont’s newest projects – his taking over Exiles and debuting GeNext – will be pushed back until late in the year when he returns. Claremont will be coming back to the fold soon, and Marvel is pleased to announce that he will be a part of this family for many years to come, as he recently renewed his exclusive contract.

Marvel wishes Claremont a speedy recovery and looks forward to future classic stories from an industry legend.

I wish him a speedy recovery, but I just hope that this means we get that many more months of Tony Bedard writing Exiles, instead of what Chris Claremont would be inflicting upon the title.

Federal judge Ronald S. W. Lew has issued a summary judgment in a lawsuit brought by the heirs of Jerome Siegel against Time Warner, Warner Bros. and DC Comics, according to Variety. Lew ruled that the Siegel heirs had the right to revoke their copyright assignment to Superboy and had successfully recaptured the rights as of November 17th, 2004.

The ruling throws into question the ownership of Smallville episodes that have run since that date, although that specific question is yet to be resolved.

Warner Bros. says that it "respectfully disagrees" with the ruling and will appeal.

Now Ms Marvel aka Binary aka Warbird aka Ms Marvel again started out as something of a feminist character if I recall correctly, so what did she do deserve this? I mean she has been impregnated (some say raped) by Marcus (son of Immortus), powers stolen by Rogue, impregnated by the Brood, depowered, and generally messed with for years. Guess I dont get the appeal of Frank Cho. I like good cheesecake as done by Dave Stevens and Steve Rude to name two. Whats up with those things on her legs? Are those supposed to be muscles? They look like freaking veins! She looks like she is in pain. No wonder standing like that. Or maybe there is something going on that I really dont want think about? I am sorry Carol Danvers. Maybe Captain Mar-Vell shouldnt have saved your life way back when.

MS. MARVEL UPDATE

The Continuum has obtained a first look at Frank Cho's cover to Ms. Marvel #5, which will go on sale in July from Marvel Comics.

The issue -- written by Brian Reed with art by Roberto De La Torre -- will continue a guest appearance by Doctor Strange.

Here's how Marvel describes the issue:

"Time travel. Alternate realities. Time traveling in alternate realities while fighting evil sorcerer, Warren Traveler. Ms. Marvel could use all the help she can get! Thank goodness special guest star Doctor Strange is around to help!"

Saw this last night of Countdown with Keith Oberman. They showed pictures of a couple of people bitten by this cat. The owner refused to keep the cat indoors even after getting a court order. They had to threaten to put it to sleep before she complied. Evidently it is only aggressive when outdoors.

Conn. neighborhood terrorized by cat

FAIRFIELD, Conn., March 29 (UPI) -- Residents in a Connecticut town say they are so terrorized by a neighbor's cat they have taken out a restraining order on him and his owner.

His name is Lewis -- a 5-year-old that Fairfield resident Ruth Cisero adopted three years ago and saw no violent tendencies.

The Connecticut Post reports her neighbors have.

"He looks like Felix the Cat and has six toes on each foot each with a long claw," said Janet Kettman, who claims the black-and-white long hair cat attacked her twice.

Animal Control Officer Rachel Solveira said Lewis isn't deadly but could cause enough injury to send someone to the hospital.

In fact Avon lady Donna Greenstein was sent there after an alleged bout with Lewis and has filed a lawsuit against Cisero.

Lewis was placed under house arrest but has escaped many times, prompting the arrest of his owner.

But Cisero said Lewis has been egged and sprayed with a hose and is now just acting in self defense

All Star Superman #3 Morrison is still channeling the Spirits of the Silver Age and reshaping them in a modern way. Lois with Superman's powers been done before, but this feel a like new idea.

Captain America 65th Anniversary Special Ties into the whole Winter Soldier thing, but you have to like Cap & Bucky teamed up with Nick Fury and the Howling Commandos.
