Over at Bam! Kapow! today they had a link to the Bendis board where they reveal who the character Penance is in the revamped Thunderbolts. He is Speedball..... what a stupid idea. Evidently his powers only trigger when he is in pain now. I am so glad in some ways I am not running the comic shop right now. My "Comic Curmudgeon" side would be out way too much right now. Triggered by pain? If superpowers were trigged by pain About half the people reading Civil War would be supervillians by now.

Sheesh will the Scarlet Witch wake up in the shower already?

Does anyone else find it annoying that HotJobs, Monster.com, etc all have "jobs" posted by the Army, Air Force, et al?

They are jobs they are a military service. I have nothing against the military just they arent jobs.

In a close second is all the sales jobs. Yeah sure I want to drive my own car, generate my own leads, and work on commission.

Marvel does something I like for a frigging change, something that isnt a civil war, or a house of crap, or letting Bendis do what ever the hell he wants. They relaunch a good solid book. And this time it gets some promotion. I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact the Spider-girl digests sell so well?

Now Ms Marvel aka Binary aka Warbird aka Ms Marvel again started out as something of a feminist character if I recall correctly, so what did she do deserve this? I mean she has been impregnated (some say raped) by Marcus (son of Immortus), powers stolen by Rogue, impregnated by the Brood, depowered, and generally messed with for years. Guess I dont get the appeal of Frank Cho. I like good cheesecake as done by Dave Stevens and Steve Rude to name two. Whats up with those things on her legs? Are those supposed to be muscles? They look like freaking veins! She looks like she is in pain. No wonder standing like that. Or maybe there is something going on that I really dont want think about? I am sorry Carol Danvers. Maybe Captain Mar-Vell shouldnt have saved your life way back when.

MS. MARVEL UPDATE

The Continuum has obtained a first look at Frank Cho's cover to Ms. Marvel #5, which will go on sale in July from Marvel Comics.

The issue -- written by Brian Reed with art by Roberto De La Torre -- will continue a guest appearance by Doctor Strange.

Here's how Marvel describes the issue:

"Time travel. Alternate realities. Time traveling in alternate realities while fighting evil sorcerer, Warren Traveler. Ms. Marvel could use all the help she can get! Thank goodness special guest star Doctor Strange is around to help!"

I am not a big fan of Nancy Grace on CNN. All this "true crime" bullshit is annoying enough and I hate the sound of her voice. So I find it amusing that she inflated her "tragedy".

I wanted to rant about this myself but she does a much better job than could. Ann & I have grown tired of many of her co-workers thinking were are some sort of freaks. All because we dont have kids. Not everyone feels they need to have children to fulfill their lives!

In other non-ranty news in under 72 hours we will be in Las Vegas. YAY! Yes I am counting down. Really looking forward to some time off.

Guess what? I get to work X-mas Eve and a part of X-mas Day! And its a two hour drive from home to boot! Doing parking lot patrol at a Wal-mart up in Midland! Dosent that sound exciting? I thought so as well! So depending on when I leave my regular gig at Comcast I will either be working until 6 A.M. on X-mas and then have to be back in Midland at 6 PM and work until 8 AM X-mas Morning.

Ann, Steph, & I are supposed to go out to eat for brunch on X-mas Day. Not sure if I will be able to stay awake enough to enjoy it! BAH! HUMBUG! Someone said that once I think,

The only upside is that I will get paid for my drive time and most likely be all overtime as well.

I am thankful for my job, but I would really like to see normal human being hours again. And maybe see the Sun sometimes. Now off to bed, Little Nemo is summoning me.

For the last several years I havent had a commute of any sort. Drive time from house to work was about ten minutes. Now driving back and forth is about 35 - 40 minutes. I know it isnt much compared to a lot of folk, but it takes time.

To quote Dennis Miller when he was still funny. I dont want to go on a rant here, but in the years I havent had a commute there seems a trend has developed. People either pass barely faster than the car you are passing or hang in the left lane LONG after you are done passing. Please get the hell out of the way for the people that might driving faster than you are. And also talk on your damn cell phone when you get home or off the road. I really dont want to be side swiped by someone talking about the latest episode of Survivor, the Apprentice, or American Idol. You want reality TV watch the fucking news. Also when changing lanes there is this newfangled device all cars come equipped with now. Its a called the TURN SIGNAL! Use it! Oh by the way dont watch TV or DVDs while driving, when driving that is where your attention needs to be. Not on the porn you hide from your wife.

Yes I had one of THOSE mornings driving back home from work this morning.

I just want the damn comics! $4.99 is lot to pay for nearly fifty pages of stuff I dont read! And this whole Cattlepunk/Brian GMing comes off as more of an ad for Aces & Eights Showdown thing that was just released.

I have been reading KoDT since its days in Shadis (Now THAT was a magazine) and I really just want to read that. Argghhhhhh!
