Guess what? I get to work X-mas Eve and a part of X-mas Day! And its a two hour drive from home to boot! Doing parking lot patrol at a Wal-mart up in Midland! Dosent that sound exciting? I thought so as well! So depending on when I leave my regular gig at Comcast I will either be working until 6 A.M. on X-mas and then have to be back in Midland at 6 PM and work until 8 AM X-mas Morning.

Ann, Steph, & I are supposed to go out to eat for brunch on X-mas Day. Not sure if I will be able to stay awake enough to enjoy it! BAH! HUMBUG! Someone said that once I think,

The only upside is that I will get paid for my drive time and most likely be all overtime as well.

I am thankful for my job, but I would really like to see normal human being hours again. And maybe see the Sun sometimes. Now off to bed, Little Nemo is summoning me.

Your Christmas is Most Like: A Charlie Brown Christmas

Each year, you really get into the spirit of Christmas.
Which is much more important to you than nifty presents.

Also something useful found recently The IVR Cheat Sheet™. Has many "cheat codes" to get past the automated operators and get to live person quicker.

And something I found amusing and have been meaning to post about...

Ronald MacDonald charged in Wendy's theft

Associated Press
Nov. 28, 2005 03:40 PM

MANCHESTER, N.H. - You'd think that just working at a Wendy's restaurant would be difficult for Ronald MacDonald. Now, the 22-year-old MacDonald — no relation to Ronald McDonald, the clown — has been charged with stealing money from a safe at the Wendy's.

Police said the restaurant manager called police early Monday, saying he found MacDonald and another employee taking money from the safe at about 1:30 a.m.

MacDonald and Steve Lemay, 20, both of Manchester, were detained at the store until police arrived.

Actor snaps over ringing mobile

Actor Richard Griffiths ordered a woman out of his West End play, after her mobile phone rang for the third time.
More at the BBC. And I agree with him, I hate when people's phones go off at the movies or in the restaurant. Very few people are important to have the damn phone on all the the time

Wednesday night Congressman John Dingell (D-Michigan) made this as his comment on the US House passing House Resolution 579 about "protecting Christmas". He says it far better than I can. Video of it here.

'Twas the week before Christmas and all through the House,
no bills were passed `bout which Fox News could grouse.
Tax cuts for the wealthy were passed with great cheer,
so vacations in St. Barts soon should be near.

Katrina kids were all nestled snug in motel beds,
while visions of school and home danced in their heads.
In Iraq, our soldiers need supplies and a plan,
and nuclear weapons are being built in Iran.

Gas prices shot up, consumer confidence fell.
Americans feared we were in a fast track to ..... well.
Wait, we need a distraction, something divisive and wily,
a fabrication straight from the mouth of O'Reilly.

We will pretend Christmas is under attack,
hold a vote to save it, then pat ourselves on the back.
Silent Night, First Noel, Away in the Manger,
Wake up Congress, they're in no danger.

This time of year, we see Christmas everywhere we go,
From churches to homes to schools and, yes, even Costco.
What we have is an attempt to divide and destroy
when this is the season to unite us with joy.

At Christmastime, we're taught to unite.
We don't need a made-up reason to fight.
So on O'Reilly, on Hannity, on Coulter and those right-wing blogs.
You should sit back and relax, have a few egg nogs.

'Tis the holiday season; enjoy it a pinch.
With all our real problems, do we really need another Grinch?
So to my friends and my colleagues, I say with delight,
a Merry Christmas to all, and to Bill O'Reilly, happy holidays.
Ho, ho, ho. Merry Christmas."

I have to sneak over to Xander's to watch A Snoopy Christmas but its worth it to see him do the Snoopy dance. Willow BtVS

Way back in the 20th century on this day in 1965, A Charlie Brown Christmas was aired for the first time!!

From USA Today....
When CBS bigwigs saw a rough cut of A Charlie Brown Christmas in November 1965, they hated it.

"They said it was slow," executive producer Lee Mendelson remembers with a laugh. There were concerns that the show was almost defiantly different: There was no laugh track, real children provided the voices, and there was a swinging score by jazz pianist Vince Guaraldi.

Mendelson and animator Bill Melendez fretted about the insistence by Peanuts creator Charles Schulz that his first-ever TV spinoff end with a reading of the Christmas story from the Gospel of Luke by a lisping little boy named Linus.

"We told Schulz, 'Look, you can't read from the Bible on network television,' " Mendelson says. "When we finished the show and watched it, Melendez and I looked at each other and I said, 'We've ruined Charlie Brown.' "

Good grief, were they wrong. The first broadcast was watched by almost 50% of the nation's viewers. "When I started reading the reviews, I was absolutely shocked," says Melendez, 89. "They actually liked it!"

In other news driving home this morning 54 miles after getting around seven inches of snow was so much fun. Wound up like a cheap watch now. There are way too many people that dont know how to drive in this weather. Do people forget what snow is every year when construction season starts? If the tractor trailers are passing you you might be going a bit too slow!

Speaking of snowstorms, last Saturday night coming home from playing poker at Gordy's I hit a pothole and tore a hole the size of a golf ball in the oilpan of the Ford Focus. Still havent heard back frm the insurance adjuster yet, which is kind of annoying seeing that Ann works for the company that insures the car. and the car is at a garage less than three miles from their corporate headquarters, youd think they would have gotten back with us by now.

Off to visit Little Nemo. Good Morning and Good Luck!

Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,

This year I've been busy!

Last month I bought porn for [livejournal.com profile] demiurgent (10 points). Last Wednesday I ruled Iran as a cruel and heartless dictator (-700 points). Last Saturday I helped [livejournal.com profile] eynowd see the light (8 points). Last Tuesday I put money in [livejournal.com profile] lucien_soulban's expired parking meter (14 points). In November I gave [livejournal.com profile] iamnikchick a wet willie, then I took it back (-5 points).

Overall, I've been naughty (-673 points). For Christmas I deserve a spanking!

Sincerely,
