The dogs have started getting used to my being gone, but in the morning when I return I get just about bowled over by the pups when I return. Indy especially launches herself at me. It makes for a good recharge to be so gleefully greeted.

Its very odd when I am at work and having no net access. I go so used being plugged in both at home and at work I instinctively want to google things as they occur to me and then realize I have no access. I have a PC in the guard shack but it has no modem.

Having no access allows me more time to think and reflect upon things so it isnt such a bad thing. Although not being able talk to anyone is a bit lonely. I am not a super social person but I spend too much time alone. Need to get out more.

But now I am going to watch Countdown on MSNBC and re-read [livejournal.com profile] chadu's awesome game Truth & Justice. More on T&J later. Bwhahahahaha!

Warner & Indy are very confused with me coming and going so much this weekend. I think Warner is already recognizing my white uniform shirt as meaning I am leaving. And when I crawled into the spare bed this morning (didnt want to wake Ann) Indy crawled up and laid down next to my head. Which she only does when she is stressed.

Damn time to be off to work again.....

Just back from job interview. I think it went well. It would be a strictly Mon - Fri gig and semi-automous and not part of the main bookstore staff. Which would mean not having to be a register jockey at all.

Wish me luck!

No back to bed because I have to work 10 pm to 6 am in the guard shack.

Naked swordsman pleads guilty

By ASSOCIATED PRESS

August 2, 2005

Iowa City, Ia. — A man who chased his neighbors with a 2-foot sword while naked last winter pleaded guilty to a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon.

Curtis Rarick, 45, of North Liberty, could face up to two years in prison and a $5,000 fine at sentencing on Sept. 16. As part of a plea bargain, a charge of public intoxication was dismissed.

Police say they responded to a reported altercation on Feb. 27.

Rarick’s neighbors told police he was standing naked in his front yard.

He got upset when they told him to put clothes on, dashed back in his house and came out with a sword. He then chased and threatened them, they told police.

Police said Rarick had a blood alcohol content of 0.12 percent.

William Gibson
The chief instigator of the "cyberpunk" wave of the 1980s, his razzle-dazzle futuristic intrigues were, for a while, the most imitated work in science fiction.
