Another steamy hot day here. If I wanted this kind of weather all summer I would move below the Mason-Dixon Line.

I am really grooving on [livejournal.com profile] chadu 's Sock Monkey Press Truth and Justice. It uses the same PDQ(and the basic PDQ rules are free on RPGnow) engine that Dead Inside does. Cool take on how super-powers work.

Now I just have to find some players that like super-hero games.

At age 85 he passed away at his home with his wife by his side. A WW II veteran who was in the intial wave that landed at Juno beach on D-Day. He was far better know for being Scotty in the original Star Trek Series and several of the movies.

Two days in a row an icon of my childhood has passed away. I was at a couple of events with James Doohan at GenCon quite a number of years ago. And he was very engaging with the audience. I much pefered listening to him talk his experiences in WW II than heariing the same old Star Trek stories over and over.

Another Sad Day Indeed.

One of my favorite comic artists Jim Aparo has passed away. He drew, inked and lettered his own work for most of his carer. He is best known for his 100 issue run on the Brave and the Bold and for many (myself included) he is THE Batman artist.

I met him briefly at a comic-con in NYC in '79. He was very gracious and quiet and seemed surprised that so many people liked his work.

I know he has been retired for a while now, but I will miss him.

Which Fantasy/SciFi Character Are You? )

I may be Marcus Cole, but I used a head shot of Morden for my character in an Amber DRPG PBEM a while back.

Which reminds me of the neat Trinity mod to run Babylon 5 by Nikolaj Lemche. Whatever happened to him anyone know? He used to be all over the net.

I am having a problem with my Superdrive on my eMac. Its opens DVDs just fine but any CDs that are commercially made it spits them out. And any discs I have burned myself it only sees as beiing blank.

And if put blank cd in I can burn from iTunes onto it but it dosent recognize any of songs that are on it.

I just upgraded to Tiger and the drive isnt making any unusual sounds.

My freind Mikko Rautalahti did a neat comic as 24 Hour Comic challenge a while back. Balloon Dreams is the result, I think the art has a neat Paul Grist look to it.

I present Balloon Dreams.

Makes me want to work on my mini comic idea.

Saw Fantastic Four tonight. I loved it. I wish Doom was more of a bad guy, but I enjoyed it far more than Batman Begins. From the look of the Baxter Building to Ioan Gruffudd playing Reed Richards so well the movie was well-crafted. Critics have said he was stiff in the movie. The character of Reed Richards is stiff. His reaction when Sue brought him the unstable molecules uniform that is Reed at his core. He is the "dumbest smart man in the world".

While I was watching FF Ann & Lisa went to see Bewitched. They said it was adorable. Ann commented it was the first time she like Will Ferrell in something.
