Should I be afraid that the Disney character my wife identifies with most is Stitch? With as much that she is playing Knights of the Old Republic I have visions of Darth Stitch.

Was discussing in the land called Chatspace about RotS and that every time I heard Padame call Anakin "Ani" I waited for him to break into a rendition of Tomorrow from Annie. [livejournal.com profile] prodigal quipped ""The sun'll come out, tomorrow! Gonna kill those Jedi kids tomorrow..."

I may have to think upon this and come up with more. And what the hell is it with "younglings"?

As [livejournal.com profile] bruceb will attest I love covers of songs. Things like When Pigs Fly: Songs You Never Thought You'd Hear with Ani Difranco & Jackie Chan covering Unforgettable are some of my favorite things to listen to.

Some of my other faves are Thee Headcoates cover of Teenage Kicks, or the Chubbies doing Good Girls Don't. What a Wonderful World by Joey Ramone is good as well. Top of the World as done by Shonen Knife, 99 Red Balloons by Goldfinger, or Marilyn Manson's version of The KKK Took My Baby Away (the We're a Happy Family: A Tribute to the Ramones is a good listen as well)

Then there are things like the instrumental version of Blitzkrieg Bop by Yo La Tengo and Charlie Brown (Schroeder Version) by JFA that I get a kick out of too.

I am always looking for more covers.... now where did I put the William Shanter LP?

Not sure what triggered but I have been on an early Uncanny X-men kick lately. [livejournal.com profile] bruceb has been greatly amused by this. I was calling folk like [livejournal.com profile] point5b Eric the Red in chatland. I have now re-read all five volumes of the Marvel Masterworks of Uncanny (that takes you through issue #141). I hope now the nostalgia wears off soon.

It is amazing how many great ideas and energy there is. There are many thing that people are riffing on in Marvel comics today from these books.

Trivia for you. Nightcrawler was originally designed by Dave Cockrum while he was at DC for possible inclusion as a member of the Legion of Super-Heroes. BTW the term super-hero is a co-owned trademark of Marvel & DC.

Saw Revenge of the Sith yesterday. Was pleasantly surprised how good it was. I know it was partly because of the greatly lowered expectations I had after The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones, but Lucas had some great shots in the movie like after showing Owen & Baru looking at the sunset at the end of movie. Very reminiscent of the same scene in Star Wars: A New Hope.

The thing that bothered the most was the lack of chemistry between Hayden Christensen and Natile Portman. Both have been in movies I have seen were they have given very good performances, so I am not sure whether or not it is the incredibly bad lines they had to deliver, lack of direction for the director, or just they were cast wrong for the roles.

The whole "Order 66" sequence was well done also.

Does anyone besides myself think that Mace Windu got punk'd in the way he was killed? There was some speculation in our groups whether he was dead or not. It would be cool to see adventures of him in the years between Episodes III and IV doing the ronin Jedi kind of thing. Doing good where he can staying one step ahead of the Empire. If I wrote fanfic it would make a great subject.

In a couple hours we will be of to see Revenge of the Sith. Although I have heard many good things about it I am still not convinced George Lucas can still make a good movie.

Not matter what it will be a good time with my wife, Steph, and my best friend Gordy.

After being tagged it by [livejournal.com profile] bruceb

1. Total number of films I own on DVD/video:

160 plus/minus. This includes a fair amount of season series. Cant smoke, drink, or have little if any fat, sugar, and salt in my diet, so DVDs have become my vice.

2. The last film I bought:

Love Song for Bobby Long. Actually Ann bought that. Its a nice film based upon a book called "Off Magazine Street" by Ronald Everett Capps. Its a very quiet subdued film staring John Travolta. Not one of my favorite films, but well done.

3. The last film I watched:

Aliens extended directors cut from the Alien Quadrilogy.

4. Five films I watch a lot:

Well first off Aliens, the Horatio Hornblower stuff, Harvey (which is my favorite movie period), Young Frankenstein, and lastly Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 1.
